We recommend you book a shuttle from Denver International Airport to Vail. The drive from Denver Airport to Vail is approximately a two hour journey through mountain highways with over 5,000 FEET of elevation gain. Once you arrive in Vail everything is extremely close by and easily walkable. Only book a car if you have other reasons to use it. Parking is expensive and hard to come by.
What airport should I fly into?
Denver International Airport is the best option. If you decide to fly into Eagle-Vail Airport, know that most flights connect in Denver.
Where should I stay?
The Bride and Groom will be staying at the Hythe Hotel in Vail. The Antlers at Vail is located right next to the Hythe and is only a 2 minute walk away. The Antlers offers large 1-4 bedroom condos that come with full kitchens and make a great option for any families look to share a space and save money on lodging. Airbnb/VRBO is also a great option. We recommend that you try to find a place south of I-70 close to Lionshead Village. Anything further away will require you to find your own transpiration to the wedding venue, hotel and wedding shuttles.
Are kids invited to the wedding?
This is an adults only celebration.
What should I wear?
Formal attire is requested for the wedding.
How cold will it be outside?
High 60's in the day time (if the sun is out) and as low as 30 degrees at night. The weather in the Colorado Rockies fluctuates and is very hard to predict. It could be very sunny and warm during the day and extremely cold at night. Please bring layers and plan accordingly for the cold weather.
How far away is the ceremony from the hotel?
The ceremony is a 5 minute drive from the Hythe Hotel. We will have several shuttles running from 2:45PM until 3:45PM to the venue. Transportation will be provided back to The Hythe after the ceremony.
How do I prepare for the high altitude?
Vail is located at over 8,000' elevation in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. The temperatures are cold and the air is thin. You want to drink more water than usual to stay hydrated. Take it easy your first night here.
Do I need a car?
Vail Village is pedestrian only and has no streets in the downtown. Everything is very close by and easily walkable. We will provide transpiration from the Hythe Hotel directly to the wedding ceremony and rides back. We recommend you only get a car if you really want one. Parking is expensive in Vail and hard to come by.
Where will the welcome party be?
The welcome party will be held at the Revel Lounge located in the Hythe Hotel at 7:00PM. We encourage everybody to attend the welcome party to officially kick off this special weekend. We are looking forward to spending time with each and every one of you.
